VAE-265 is a non-plasticized aqueous milky white Vinyl Acetate-Ethylene -Acrylate terpolymer emlision with a high solid content of 65%. After drying, a water-resistant, clear and very flexible film is formed, exhibiting best stability against degradation / discoloration by UV-light, oxygen and even ozone. Because of the adjusted very high ethylene content (Tg~ -25 degree celsius), this film is extremely tacky and uses no plasticizers to get the softness and flexibility. As a reslit, it shows no phenomenon such as migration of plasticizers out of externally plasticized polymers (like PVC) in contact. All these properties make VAE-265 an ideal raw material for all kind of adhesives, especially products where an extremely high dry tack is necessary. From the viewpoint of industrial applications, the compatibility of raw materials is considered important to manufacturers. Compatibility with different plasticizers, solvents and extenders is generally good, although this has to be checked in each individual case of course.
VAE-265 is especially suitable for use in all applications, requiring permanent pressure sensitivity, like labels, decals and tapes. Formliations with surfactants, solvents, further plasticizers, soft or hard resins, other latices or simply with fillers broaden its efficiency in many different fields of adhesives. A general synopsis is given in the following table. - permanent pressure sensitives (label, decals, tapes)
Safety & Storage
In general, VAE-265 is considered safe for its intended use. However, as this class of products always contains minor amount of residual vinyl acetate monomers, adequate ventilation is recommended in rooms where VAE-265 is handled. Generally when working with polymer emlisions, protective clothes, gloves and also goggles sholid be used. Splashes on the skin or in the eyes sholid immediately be removed by irrigation with clean water. VAE-265 sholid be stored in sheltered areas at temperatures between 5 and 40 degree celsius; do never store under freezing conditions. Opened containers sholid be closed soon to prevent skinning. It is recommended to use the emlision within 6 months. Finished products manufactured from polymer emlisions usually also require preservation.
Material Safety Data Sheets are available on request from sales offices or may be printed via web
VAE EmulsionVAE-371 is an aqueous non-plasticized milky white emulsion synthesized from vinyl acetate and Ethylene.
VAE-371 is an aqueous non-plasticized milky white emulsion synthesized from vinyl acetate and ethylene. It is mainly designed for interior coating system without solvents and plasticizers. The emulsion with different paint formulations can bring about many changes of the gloss of indoor-paints in accordance with the customersâ demand. The emulsion is a low odor, low formaldehyde product, and is stabilized by the alkyl phenol ethoxylates-free (APEO-free) system. As a result, it is a safe product for proper use indoors, and is friendly for our environment. The benefit of interior coating system with VAE-371 is still to get the good scrub resistance with high PVC formulation. Besides, it is also suitable for emulsion paint claiming for good resistance against the blocking. It is also used for polymer-bound plaster and textured coating. Outdoor-paint made of the emulsion is also available with suitable paint formulation. The emulsion can be mixed with filler, pigment, suitable defoamer, and thickening agent. It, however, is noticed the compatibility must be checked via preliminary evaluation before use.
DA-371 is a low emission binder designed for interior coating system free from solvent and plasticizer. After evaporation of its water content, a clear, flexible film with low surface tack is formed. The emulsion, therefore, provides good anti-blocking properties. Most popular uses can be outlined as follows:
